"All of BKF's Albums are insanely great. Mind blowing multi-instrumentalists in avant-rock settings are my favourite thing and Brian Kenney Fresno is a rare delicacy. This album, more so than any other of our time, speaks to the pain of enduring the disregard for our planet, as viewed from a Fresno-gilded precipice fabricated entirely of people's nonsense. His reflection shows the elemental beauty within this darkly humoristic moral tale that is both wry, heavy, and unexplainably beautiful. Moreover, it's an historic look at our time worth passing down through the ages. Consider it a responsibility! We preserved Zappa, great. Next: Brian Kenney Fresno. Prog rock/ art rock/ avant rock all at it's finest for you to savour. It seems a requirement that you buy it at once. You're probably a musician if you are reading this. Save your masterclass money and buy BKF albums instead. I promise you will break into a new you." Holly Csigna of Age of Fiction ; Seattle, WA.

A review of my new song: Plastic.

Plastic, by Brian Kenney Fresno 08/19/2023

I just got the singles from “You’re Killing Me Fresno” back from The Mastering Institute. I can’t believe the difference in everything. It sounds even MORE amazinger. For telling stories and imparting scene specific passages, keyboards with samples are a scarily powerful combo. And drums. I changed out all of them on Bandcamp. The songs, not the drums. If you have the old ones, give them the Office Space Copier Treatment and download the new. I’m looking forward to the CD release, but the label is dragging their feet through our dispute. I want the ocean in every unit, but they say it will be too heavy and smelly, like the times I used to send lil boxes of raisins in my-get this-“ Promo Pack”, in the “mail”, but by the time they’d get to the East coast they’d have maggots in them when the booker opened it.
But that was memorable, and not far off from what I was trying to represent, so who’s being unreasonable?
Here’s what alert long time listener George said in a nice email out of the blue, titled,
“You’re Killing It Fresno”
“I’ve enjoyed all the new tracks and plan to buy You’re Killing Me Fresno when it’s out.

The new keyboard/drumpedal approach provides a nice wide palette of instrument-sounds and an extremely wild and off-the-grid rhythmic turboshamble. I think a longtime specialty of yours is taking rhythmic advantage of the live sync-with-yourself one-man-band thing to really romp.

Lyrically my favorite so far on the new one is 7-11 Sushi.

Say yes to the Fres no,
George”
Thanks George!
This is maybe my current fav. Yes, that IS a twelve tone row the audience gets to sing, and the Gershwinesque trash heap ending really stirs my soul.
I would love it if YOU reviewed the new singles, or one. Or just listened to any of it.
It’s all still free, because I am beyond wealth with music. And my love for you. And beer, which actually does cost money, but whatever, the singles are all still free. Rock Forever Forth.

Plastic, by Brian Kenney Fresno 08/15/2023

There’s a fantastic amount of plastic
Plastering the planet, blanketing the globe
There’s a fantastic amount of plastic
It’s in your rugged athletic footwear
It’s in your sexy bedroom robe
Islands in the ocean, mountains to the sky
It’s in every single person, it’s in everything you buy
Satellites like cigarette butts casually infecting space
Plastic’s the empty Dorito bag of the entire human race

We’re awash in plastic, drowning by the day
Designed for instant obsolescence, but to never ever go away
It’s a planetary scale abuse, trillions and trillions of single use
Burying us in our grave of overconsumption

And the flowers on our headstones we’re all made from plastic
And the cars that drove the mourners there, you guessed it, plastic
Electric safe and compactstic
With the promise of Spring at lastic
Yes, plastic was the answer to all the problems
Then the problem turned around and became plastic
Back to haunt us from the pastic
As the cumulative effects became drastic

Hey! I found your old toothbrush from when you were six years old!
It was right there with all the other plastic crap you’ve ever been sold
And it wasn’t going anywhere, or was it ever likely to
Combined with the plastic of the billions of all the people around you
And you can’t get away from it no matter what you do
All for the Saudi princes and the profits of Wall Street Avenue

So you’re got Senators in the plastics industry
Plasticity in the senators
Not to mention The Plastics Council or The Plastics Lobby
You got plastic in your food you got plastic in your children
You’ve got plastic in the center of your soul

Now there’s just no way to talk about plastic
Without being angry or sad
Unless you sing about h**p
And all the advantages to be had
One of the things that’s so rad
Anything that can be made from oil can be made from h**p

But the purveyors of greed aren’t farmers
That’s who they ran out long ago
What they sell instead is just a death pollution
When there’s always been a simple h**p solution

So they fooled us with a stupid triangle
For forty fu***ng years
Never recycled anything but only shifted gears towards making
YOU GUESSED IT, More Plastic!
Cause everyone felt so, placated
All their concerns had been ,vacated
It was cheaper to make it new, no actual recycling to have to go through
Just paid the redemption to pacify you

And so from the depths of the Mariana Trench, to the highest Himalayan summit
All you guitar playin heroes, it’s in your picking hand as you strum it
It’s in the hot water hoses of your house if you re-plumb it
It’s in the title of this song years from now when you still hum it

(12 tone crowd choir, boys against the girls)
Plastic you, Plastic me, Plastic us, Plastic we.

Plastic, It’s what we do, it’s inside of you, it’s never far, it’s who we are
It’s who we serve, not what we deserve

While h**p’s the clear path forward
As you humanity positions itself toward
Cleaner transitions toward future solutions
For the threatening scourge of plastic pollution

Six Lanes To Pismo, by Brian Kenney Fresno 07/19/2023

I forgot to say penultimate!
This is the fifth and last single from You’re Killing Me Fresno.
“Six Lanes To Pismo”. Title from a memory from Professor Paul Gilmore.
Free to a good home. Actually, I don’t care if it’s a good home.
I just want to get it out there, dot dot dot.
It’s fourteen minutes long, so don’t blame me if you burn your popcorn, or overshoot your exit.
