Join Sherman Produce Market and Farms to Grow, Inc. for the 3rd Annual Central Valley Watermelon Tasting, Saturday, July 18, 2026, Celebrating Local Farmers, Family Fun, and the Sweetest Melons in the Valley

What began as a local idea has grown into a signature regional event. The inaugural tasting drew more than 500 attendees, and the second year welcomed over 1,500 visitors from nine counties, reflecting the Central Valley’s deep enthusiasm for locally grown produce and community connection. In 2025, the Mayor of Fresno issued an official proclamation designating the third Saturday of July as Central Valley Watermelon Tasting Day, cementing the event as a new summer tradition.
A Celebration of Agriculture, Flavor, and Community
This year’s tasting will highlight 14+ varieties of melons including red and yellow seeded watermelons, along with cantaloupe, honeydew, and specialty melons grown by Sherman Produce Market and local farmers.

Attendees will enjoy: A FREE watermelon tasting featuring red and yellow seeded watermelon and 12 other varieties of melons. A watermelon eating contest, live music, line dancing, kidz zone, local vendors and food trucks.
