This stone arch bridge is the the site of a grisly murder in 1892 where the assailants consulted old world folk beliefs to justify their deed.

On a Tuesday evening, George Markert left a local drinking hole and didn’t make it to his nearby home. Adam and Joseph Heidt, father and son, believed George had used or was capable of dark arts. A “hexenmeister”, it was called. The men believed George had them, so they took his life on the bridge.

The men were held accountable, and all the facts, including court records, are available on this incredibly unique case.

Folks have reported witnessing strange unexplained activity here, including full apparitions. We investigated for the here one evening and the results surprised us. 👀 👻
