Freeport Fire/Rescue

This past Tuesday the Fire Department conducted its final inspection of the new ladder in Ocala Florida at the E-One factory.
It passed its inspection and is ready to ship north to Greenwood.

Captain Mike Crossman was sworn in last night by the Freeport town clerk and council members.
Mike has been a per-diem Paramedic / FF for many dedicated years. Mike brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Freeport and we are very happy to have him on-board.

Freeport Fire Rescue sends our condolences to the Scarborough Fire department for their loss.

Last week members of the department participated in a technical rope rescue course conducted by Specialty Response Solutions, Inc.
We spent five days honing our rescue skills, great job.

Last night, Captain Hanson was sworn in as our latest full-time captain hire at the town council meeting. Captain Hanson brings many years of experience in Freeport and the members of Freeport Fire/Rescue welcome him back. Congratulations Captain Hanson!

The fire department would like to express its deepest appreciation to the community for voting to provide us with funding for a new ladder truck, which will be vital in executing our mission. The ladder truck is a critical tool for fire suppression and rescue in high and hard to access areas. Freeport voters showed their commitment to public safety and an understanding of firefighting priorities, and we are thankful.
