We have an amazing dog being returned today, in a hurry because his adopter has to leave Monday...

"Good morning. I’m reaching out to see if I can return Judge (I call him Castle now) today or tomorrow? He’s done nothing wrong and he’s been a great dog, but I have run out of options with no time at this point. I have a work trip scheduled for all of next week. My fiancé was supposed to come from Maryland to watch Castle for the week, but her mother is now not allowing her to come because my fiancé is allergic to dogs. My fiancé has been around Castle and she has been fine overall with minimal reactions, but her mother insists she cannot come see me at all. Even if I was able to find someone to watch Castle this week, I would still have this problem going forward. I never expected to have this much resistance from her mother, but this is the point that I am at now. I would need to return him today or tomorrow because I leave Monday"

🐾 Meet Judge 🐾

Handsome, hilarious, and full of heart—Judge is a 6-year-old, 53 lb Shar Pei mix (maybe with a little cattle dog flair!) who is ready to finally find the forever home he’s been waiting for.

Judge might take a few minutes to warm up to new people, but don’t let that fool you—once you’re in, you’re in. In less than an hour with us, he was already bowing to play, tossing out happy barks, and leaning in for all the butt scratches he could get. He’s the perfect blend of goofy energy and laid-back companion—the kind of dog who will make you laugh daily and then happily curl up beside you to relax.

He rides great in the car, keeps his crate spotless, and has had zero accidents in the house. He does well with submissive dogs and has reportedly lived with a cat before, though his curiosity may be a bit much for some feline personalities. Judge has also had entropion surgery and is feeling great.

His Story:
Judge was surrendered by his owner in South Carolina and later transferred to Virginia with hopes of finding his forever family. Unfortunately, he’s still waiting—but we know his perfect match is out there. 🙏🏻

Your foster mom and dad only got to spend 6 days with you.. Those 6 days we know you were loved and very well cherished. 🖤
Yesterday they noticed he was more tired, not wanting food, and acting off. I approved for them to take him to their local vet for look over.
While there, they learned his pancreatic levels were low, blood sugar low, WBC count super high, and his arthritis was causing him immense pain. He wouldn't have made it to a teeth cleaning.. We believe he was already starting to pass on the way to the vet.. the vet said he was off and on going in and out of consciousness during his visit. So, they recommended euthanasia. 💝
In good consciousness, we could not let him suffer more. It was agreed to let him go out with love. 🐾
