Butterfly Ridge Elementary School

Last night, Butterfly Ridge Elementary School held our annual Talent Show, and we could not be more proud of the incredible range of talent, creativity, and courage our students shared with our community.

For the second year in a row, one of our fourth-grade students chose to use this stage not simply to perform, but to tell a story. Through spoken word and song, Angel shared his experiences, challenges, and perspective with honesty and heart. In doing so, he also gave a voice to classmates and friends whose stories are often carried quietly and who may not have felt able to share them themselves.

Proud feels like too small a word. Brave does not quite capture it. And resilient only begins to describe the strength it takes to stand in front of a crowd and give voice to experiences that are deeply personal.

Thank you, Angel and Angel, for allowing the world to hear your voices. Thank you for helping us better understand one another, for speaking with courage, and for reminding us that every member of our community deserves to be seen, heard, and valued.

When children feel safe enough to tell their stories, adults should listen.
