Another one in the ground! Thank you to all that helped make our Tenleytown Bioretention a success! We couldn’t have done it without the support of our amazing community partner, Tenleytown Main Street. We had a lovely Ribbon Cutting Ceremony last week with representatives from DDOT, Department of Energy & Environment, PepcoConnect, Tenleytown Main Street, and Ward 3 Councilmember Matt Frumin. This project not only treats over 2,700 gallons of stormwater runoff, but also added traffic and pedestrian safety measures at the intersection. The design and construction was funded by DOEE through an EPA grant, the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and maintenance training was funded by Pepco and Sustainable Maryland, and the bench was funded by Tenleytown Historical Society. CWP designed the project and Triangle Contracting, LLC constructed it. Thank you all our other supporters, DC Water, DC Office of Planning, Cafe of India, Le Chat Noir Restaurant, and ANC3E.

Check out this matting installation clip from Pinecliff Park. The crew is pounding wooden stakes into newly graded slopes to secure the biodegradable coconut fiber matting. These slopes will help to connect the floodplain with the channel.

Just like the students at the University of Maryland, our crew is working hard at the end of the year!
Check out these images of the pipe bursting project on Knox Road in College Park, MD. This trenchless pipe replacement technique uses a bursting tool to force the existing pipe outward and leave a new pipe in its place. This method is safer, more cost effective, increases flow capacity, and causes less damage to the site than traditional pipe replacement strategies.
