She's doing great, and she doesn't even miss that bad old toe. 🦶🏻🚫🙈

We changed to a soft bandage on Saturday. Her incision has healed well, and so her sutures came out, just as planned.

We're on a little bit of a compressed timeframe, and so she's already came out of her soft bandage this morning...and was way too interested in licking her foot, so now she's wearing a sock. 🧦 🐾🤎

Most incisions go through periods of being itchy or tingly, so it's no surprise that she wants to bother her incision--but we can't have it. We don't want her to cause any trouble, so she needs to leave it alone.

Little sister Sherpa has been such a sweet helper for Della. 😄🐾💛

We're waiting for histopathology results on the toe that Della doesn't need anymore. She had early signs of abnormal tissue at her nail bed, the part of the toe where the toenail grows. When problems happen at this location, sometimes it's infection (which can be frustrating to treat), and at least as often, it eventually becomes a tumor. If you know Dr Arthur, you know she didn't want to wait around and see if Della's bad tie turned into a tumor, so we took it off right away. Huge thank you to Hampstead Veterinary Center for taking this just as seriously as we did and helping us let it happen right away.
