I woke up early these past two mornings to two very different types of weather: rain on March 12th, and snow this morning!
I’ve been staying busy balancing my art and social life. On the 12th, I spent the morning carving my ‘Sea-lady’ block and the afternoon printing in black. I also did a lot of printing using a custom green I mixed from Phthalo Blue and Yellow ink. It was so productive!
Today, I visited several studios and connected with other artists. They are amazing!

Over the last three days, the weather has warmed and the river has begun to change. After pulling the yellow layers for an untitled work on Sunday night and letting them dry, I finished the red printed layers today. Alongside this, I completed the drawing and coloring for my “Happy Accident” piece.The creative connections here have been deeply inspiring. I’ve had wonderful conversations with a visiting writer and a poet; I was especially honored to see that the poet wrote several pieces inspired by my artwork. Between those meaningful visits and a surprise appearance by Reddy the squirrel, the studio feels full of life. Bonus campfire and stars!
