On June 19, we commemorate Juneteenth, the day that marked the end of slavery in the United States and a pivotal moment in our nation's history.
The Frederick County Commission for Women honors the strength, resilience, and contributions of Black womenāpast, present, and futureāwhose leadership, advocacy, and perseverance continue to shape our communities and inspire progress.
As we celebrate freedom and reflect on the ongoing pursuit of equity and justice, we recognize the importance of learning from our history while working together to build a more inclusive future for all.
Today, we honor. We remember. We celebrate.
