There are certain brands of electrical panels which are no longer being produced, mostly for good reason.

If you have a Zinsco, Federal Pacific, or a Challenger brand of panel, these are all recalled brands that are known fire hazards for various reasons.

Here is an example of what a Federal Pacific panel looks like. These are known to have breakers which do not trip, leaving no circuit overload or overcurrent protection which can cause damage to your wires, start fires in your home, or even electrocute someone.

These are all panel types which are commonly found on older homes. From the 1950s all the way through 1990s.
