When a client presents with persistent physical complaints, it your first instinct to treat the worry or investigate the medical picture? It's not always simple to know where anxiety ends and the medical picture begins.

What if They’re Right? Making Clinical Distinctions and Treatment Considerations for the Health-Anxious Client is a 3-hour live interactive webinar presented by Michael Stier, LCPC, LPC, NCC on Friday, June 5, 2026, from 1:00–4:15pm ET. This intermediate workshop is designed for Psychologists, Counselors, Social Workers, and Marriage & Family Therapists and focuses on the complex clinical intersection where navigating medical conditions (known or unknown) meets anxiety around health.

The training examines how factors such as "unfounded" health issues, medical complexities and past medical trauma can create a logical foundation for hypervigilance and make these types of cases so hard to navigate. Clinicians will learn how to integrate ACT-informed interventions while still honoring the possibility of real or evolving medical concerns. Participants will also learn how to support clients in describing physical sensations more objectively, creating exposure and ritual prevention work, and collaborating with physicians when reasonable medical clearance is needed.

By the end of this session, clinicians will have a roadmap for navigating the complexities between validating the patient's medical reality while managing their anxiety. This is thoughtful, nuanced training for clinicians who want to approach health-anxious clients with more clarity, more precision, and more care.

Curious about hypnotherapy, but want a grounded place to start?

Join us for Introduction to Hypnotherapy, a free 1 hour live CE webinar with Ellen Baker, LPC, NCC, NBCFCH. This session is designed as an evidence-based introduction to hypnotherapy, memory reconsolidation, and clinical application, with a live demonstration to help bring the material into real clinical context.

It’s also part of a broader Clinical Hypnotherapy Series, including a live certification training this September offered across two weekends. That training already has strong early interest, so this free webinar is a helpful way to get introduced to the topic and the teaching style before taking the next step.
