Before you head out to celebrate, make sure both your and your kids’ hearing is protected with proper hearing protection (earmuffs, earplugs, etc.). Keep at a safe distance, and make a game plan for quieter breaks.

If you notice muffled hearing, ringing in your ears (tinnitus), or your hearing doesn’t seem quite right after the festivities, don’t ignore it. While temporary changes can happen after loud noise exposure, they can also be a sign of damage. If your symptoms don’t improve within 24–48 hours, contact us for an evaluation.
