One of our very own, Matt Jones, and his father, Dan Jones, competed in the 129th Giants Despair Hillclimb this past weekend.

What an honor to see a father-and-son team continue the tradition of this historic local event. Participants and spectators from across the United States gathered to experience one of the nation’s oldest and most celebrated hill climbs, and we were proud to have Forty Fort represented.

We can’t wait for next year’s milestone 130th Giants Despair Hillclimb!

The Forty Fort Borough Shade Tree Commission will hold a meeting on Monday, July 13, 2026 at the Forty Fort Borough Building, 1271 Wyoming Ave., beginning at 4:30 PM and is open to the public. The purpose of this meeting is to review requests from Corning Optical to place optical cabinets in the tree lawn at 1478 Murray Street and 117 River Street and approve tree installation near 34 Mohawk St. The agenda for this meeting is posted at the office of the secretary at the Borough Building.
