With mixed emotions, we celebrated the retirement of Mary Overstreet today. She is retiring as Sr. Technical Writer after 20 years of service. We wish her the very best as she embarks on the next chapter of her life.

Farewell from Mary Overstreet...

When I got the job at Howell Instruments, I was pretty sure it was my dream job. I was happy to find out I was right! It became more than that as I learned the tools of the job, got to do a lot of new things, eventually rediscovering my interest in photography, and then getting to fully use that in the company as well as out.

I’ve had mentors (thank you, Warren) and a lot of friends, heard plenty of crazy stories (from Shep Brown, former CEO), got to set foot in a C-130, go to the Quad-A trade show and climb in some of the helicopters for which we have products. In general, it was never boring. I didn’t know when I started that I’d be here twenty years, but I’m so glad I have been! I just wish I could’ve started here sooner.

It’s been an honor and a pleasure to create background graphics for our display units, and create videos, logos, company newsletters, and take photos at company events. Working with such brilliant minds has amazed me. I can’t say enough good things about the people who work here. They have gone out of their way to be helpful, kind, and courteous. I will certainly miss you all! And I wish Howell Instruments the best of success always.
