A man who caddied as a teenager with legendary golf great Byron Nelson (at the old Glen Garden Country Club) once lived in the FPT, and was himself a legendary golf great.

Hogan is tied for fourth in career wins in professional tournaments. His career years, 1938 - 1959, with 63 wins, were interrupted by military service in the Second World War, and a near-fatal automobile accident, at age 36. Doctors told Hogan he might never walk again, let alone play golf, but with outstanding medical care and an intensive walking regimen,
Hogan went on to have his biggest wins.

Hogan attended Central High School (now Trimble Tech High School) in Fort Worth.
