It's been another hot one! As we wrap up treatments for the week, we just want to thank you all again for your patience. Reminder, we are closed tomorrow but will be back at it again on Monday!

Whew, what a week! β˜€οΈ

Thank you all for your patience and understanding as we made adjustments this week due to the heat. Our technicians worked so hard to keep a good pace while also trying to stay hydrated and cool! You might say that they worked like a bunch of Champs! πŸ˜‰

Stay safe and have a great weekend!

Just a little reminder on what our flag colors mean. πŸ’™β€οΈπŸ€

If you signed up for pond muck treatments, a white flag is coming your way soon!

How will you know we serviced your pond or whether there are any pond restrictions? 🚩

Our technicians write the date they treated on a flag left by your pond. Our treatment packages are based on a biweekly schedule (exception is Gold in the months of June-August) which means we are at your pond every other week. Though things can happen, we are generally pretty consistent with what day of the week we are there to service!

πŸ’™ Blue flags indicate a regular pond service was performed and that there are no restrictions for immediate pond use.
❀️ Red flags indicate that a submerged w**d treatment was performed and to refrain from pond use for 24 hours. This isn't due to anything harmful to you or pets, but instead to keep the waters as still as possible for product effectiveness!
🀍 White flags indicate a muck treatment was performed and there are no restrictions. Try not to disturb any muck sticks that are placed within the pond after this treatment.

We are only human, so if you are not seeing a flag or a date written on one, please reach out to the office! We keep everything on record and are able to look up that information for you.

All products used during our treatments are aquatic-grade. πŸΈπŸŸπŸ¦†

Algae & w**ds need to be present for algaecides & herbicides to be effective. Spraying or broadcasting these products with no growth present will not prevent future growth from occurring. All you need is a little sunlight and water for anything to grow! With a pond being...well, a big puddle of water...growth is only natural! Our services are for managing this growth so you can enjoy your pond all summer long. β˜€

Occasionally, toxic blue-green algae blooms make the news, but what exactly is blue-green algae? Blue-green algae blooms are microscopic bacteria that occur naturally on the surface of bodies of water. When environmental conditions are favorable, these bacteria can thrive and multiply rapidly.

Blue-green algae blooms can produce toxins that are harmful to humans, pets, livestock, wildlife, and fish. While many types of algae are harmless, this specific type can affect the nervous system and the liver. Other health effects may include rashes, eye irritation, and gastrointestinal problems. In severe cases, serious illness or death can occur depending on the level of exposure.
One of the best ways to manage the risk of blue-green algae is through awareness and monitoring public health warnings for local waters. People should stay out of affected water and avoid eating fish from those areas. High concentrations of blue-green algae can make swimming and boating hazardous.

Precautions include avoiding contact with visible algae, not swallowing water while swimming, and washing with warm water and soap after contact with untreated bodies of water. Pets and livestock should also be kept away from untreated water.

While a warning can sound scary, blue-green algae is not something we run into very often in our line of work. Awareness is key, especially if you spend time in untreated waters!
