Today marks the 250th anniversary of our nation’s independence. Let us give thanks to the Lord for the many freedoms and blessings he has given us:

As the United States pauses to commemorate its anniversary, we think of the many blessings you have made a reality for us, sovereign Lord. Forgive us our many complaints and our negligence in asking your blessings upon our land. Continue to allow us peace and bless all honest endeavors. Do not let our wonderful freedoms be abused or removed. Let justice and right prevail. Place loyalty in the hearts of our citizenry so that all may take an active role to do away with wrong and foster what is right. Above all, preserve our freedom to call upon you and to praise you. Bless our land! Amen.

Pursue the Best Things 06/30/2026

Here is your from pastor's sermon on Sunday. The Christian life is like a strenuous athletic competition. The Apostle Paul encourages us to "fight the good fight of the faith!"

"So why fight? Why struggle? Because in the end, it’s worth it. In the end, we have victory. Paul reminds Timothy, when Jesus’ life was on the line, he made the good confession while testifying before Pontius Pilate. Christ already fled temptation and pursued righteousness godliness, faith, love, endurance, and gentleness of you. He had his love in the proper order. He feared, loved, and trusted in God above all things, submitting to his will by giving up his life on a cross so that you would have that life. He wiped our slate clean and freed us from death and hell when he rose from the dead. Jesus already fought the good fight of faith for you. He already won the victory for us! That’s the picture here. We fight and we struggle, because we know the outcome."

Please explain: What's the difference between a disciple and an apostle? 06/26/2026

In this week's , we ask what’s the difference between a disciple and an apostle?

"In the Nicene Creed, we confess these words, “We believe in one holy Christian and apostolic Church.” Have you ever wondered what, exactly, makes the church apostolic? Or perhaps you’ve noticed that the New Testament speaks of both disciples and apostles and wondered, Are they the same, or is there a difference? It’s a good question and one that opens the door to a deeper appreciation of Christ’s church and your place in it..."
