Community leaders gather for People’s Assembly focused on mental health, civic engagement 05/31/2026

This Mental Health Awareness Month, Count US IN’s first People’s Assembly with Fuerza Unida and Bri the Change was a huge success! From Stress to Strength: Building Power with Care has sessions that covered everything from repairing community partnerships to understanding issues that could appear on future ballots, while also emphasizing rest and self-care for those doing community work.

“We really talked about coalition repair, how to navigate burnout as an organizer and a community leader, and just like what's coming up on the ballot," Jalyn Radziminski, executive director of Count Us IN said. "As a nonpartisan organization, we really like to educate people so they're informed voters."

People are leaving with resources of how to build a campaign, how to pace it out, how to make a timeline, how to have a hard conversation with someone who doesn't agree with you," Radziminski said. "So, from those basic organizing skills to just, 'Hey, are you taking care of yourself today?' that's what we're trying to bring together."
