Green Door Move Management

I got this text tonight, following my client D’s move yesterday from senior apartment life to a beautiful and highly-regarded assisted living community here in Ft. Wayne. Some things are just too kind and dear not to share, because sometimes “we get by with a little help from our friends.”
“Hi dear friend, and late-in-the-day happy Cinco de Mayo to you!
I just want you to know that I thank God every day for sending you into my life when I had need of help. Your kind thoughtfulness has meant the world to me, in addition to the mountain of hard work and organizing that you so cheerfully gave. Bless you, dear Cara - He knew just what I needed and sent you to me. Thank God and thank you.”
Trust me, the blessing of knowing D has been poured out with overflow upon me!

In a recent move from a home of 50 years, the movers arrived to transport furniture marked “green for go” along with clearly-labeled boxes. 🚛 The result was that only hours after the items were deposited in the new apartment, the pictures were hung and not a box remained unpacked. Planning pays off! Fast forward to yesterday, I met another resident in the same community who confided that 6 years later she still had unpacked boxes taking up space. 😱 As senior move manager my goal is simply to eliminate stress so my client can focus on getting on with life! 😊 #greendoormovemanagement

I had a weekend I could never duplicate, helping out a friend conducting her parents estate sale. Here are just a few of the many highlights:
💚Creating themed gift baskets with the items still available and/or still being unearthed from the garage. Oh, the JOY when shoppers spotted a collection that was perfect for their loved one!!
💚Repeat customers- one dear lady came back 2 more times for a little more shopping! Another returned on half price day because she scours for bargains to fill a ‘store’ that serves those in need.
💚The cries of delight when people exclaimed “this reminds me of my grandmother!” or “I used to have that when I was little!”.
💚Perhaps the most impactful was the older woman who told me that she needs help desperately to declutter. There’s no one to help her, as her husband is an amputee. She’s overwhelmed and doesn’t know how to begin. This created an opportunity to tell her about my work in helping people navigate downsizing and planning for the next stage, and that there IS help for people *just like her*. I am so looking forward to her call.
