One of the biggest misconceptions about being a Realtor is that our job is to unlock doors and write contracts.
That's only a small part of what we do.
My job is to help protect my clients.
No, I'm not a home inspector, and I would never pretend to be one.
But after walking through thousands of homes, you start to recognize things that deserve a closer look.
Maybe it's a crack that seems out of place.
A water stain that's been painted over.
Uneven floors.
Signs of moisture in the basement.
A roof that's showing its age.
None of those observations replace a professional home inspection. They're simply indicators that tell me we should slow down, ask questions, and make sure my clients have the information they need to make a confident decision.
I pay attention to the little things. Not because I can diagnose every problem, but because I know what deserves a closer look.
If a Realtor isn't actively looking for potential issues and helping protect their clients throughout the process, they're missing one of the most important parts of the job.
Protecting my clients has always been more important than making a sale.

One of the best questions a buyer can ask isn't...
"How much do you think I can offer?"
It's...
"What happens if I need to sell this home in five years?"
Life changes.
New jobs.
Growing families.
Retirement.
Unexpected opportunities.
Even if you plan to stay forever, it's smart to buy with resale in mind.
I encourage buyers to look beyond what they love today and think about what the next buyer will love someday.
Is the layout functional?
Is the location desirable?
Does it have features that appeal to a wide range of buyers?
The goal isn't just to buy a home.
The goal is to buy a home that's enjoyable to live in and easy to sell if life takes you in a different direction.
The best real estate decisions aren't just about today.
They're about protecting your future, too.
