31 years ago, six-year-old Morgan Nick was kidnapped as she played with friends at a ballgame.

Families crowded on bleachers cheering for loved ones. The bright lights bounced off the darkness of the night. The snap of the bat as the ball ricochetes off of it.

Shouts of parents and coaches, yelling run, run! Tiny legs trying not to stumble as the dirt flies off their cleats. Safe at first base. The crowds cheer. It’s a warm summer night in a small town , just steps from the school, the police dept and Main Street.

Laughter can be heard as children play nearby, the game goes on. The night gets darker, not from the moon hiding behind clouds, but from the presence of evil lurking , watching and waiting.

A young girl stops to empty the sand out of her shoes, her friends continue to play. A glance.. a moment.. then gone…..

The search began, people walking the town, riding four wheelers and on horseback, going from house to house , street by street.

The dawn pushed away the night, and the horror was revealed to the community. Pink ribbons tied to street signs and pinned on shirts, was a reminder to those searching, that Morgan was gone.. days turned into months and months turned into years.. but still the question is not answered.. where is Morgan?

As you go through your day, take a moment to stop and pray for Morgan and her family. This is a hard day to relive year after year.. a reminder of what was stolen..

Morgan never came home.
