How can I pray for children and teens in foster care?
1️⃣ 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻.
Pray that more families in local communities would say "yes" to foster care so children and teens can remain connected to their community and near local family visitations while they await reunification.
2️⃣ 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴.
Pray that children would experience safety, stability, and rest in their current homes, and that God's peace would guard their hearts and minds through seasons of uncertainty.
3️⃣ 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗱.
Pray that children would be given age-appropriate opportunities to express their feelings, ask questions, and share their needs with the trusted adults in their lives.
4️⃣ 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀.
Lift up foster families, biological families, caseworkers, therapists, churches, CASA volunteers, and others who walk alongside them. Pray for wisdom, grace, discernment, and compassion as they help children navigate trauma, visits, complex emotions, and the loss of control that often accompanies foster care.
5️⃣ 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱.
Pray that children would know they are fearfully and wonderfully made, deeply loved by God, and worthy of dignity, care, and belonging.
6️⃣ 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.
Pray for healing and restoration for biological parents, children and teens in care, siblings, and extended family members. Ask God to provide the support, growth, and resources needed for families to reunify safely and flourish together.
