St. John's Sack Lunch Program

Food insecurity is closely tied to being unhoused, but it isn’t always the version we picture. Families may be living in motels. Teenagers may be couch surfing to escape a troubled home. In our community and far beyond this is a reality our homeless providers, teachers, social workers, police officers, and religious affiliates see every day.

For every person who comes to Sack Lunch, we don’t know where they will eat next. The pressures they carry may be far greater than we can imagine. We’re grateful for the chance to help in the moment, and we pray for God’s care, and protection for each person who visits.

Serving hours: Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. to noon. Saturdays from 11:30 a.m. to noon. Our visitors my request up to three sack meals during each visit. Milk and juice included. We also provide dog and cat food for pet parents.

We ❤️ our volunteers. They help us stock and pick up supplies. They prepare food, serve our visitors, and keep the area clean. They do this for you, our visitors, because they care.
