The Wolverine Battalion (4-1 BSTB), 4th IBCT, 1st Infantry Division, conducted their inactivation ceremony at Cavalry Parade Field May 12 on Fort Riley. The Wolverines were the fifth out of five battalions and one squadron in the “Dragon” brigade to case their colors as a result of the Budget Control Act and the Army’s continual restructuring of divisional units. Many Soldiers within the battalion will be re-assigned to different units across the division, while others will explore new endeavors as they carry on permanent change of station moves.
