To paraphrase Abraham Lincoln, “Life is hard, but so very beautiful.” And so it is true with elections. Last night may not have been the victory celebration we had hoped for, but it was still a celebration. We have so much to be proud of.
The outpouring of support for our campaign across the state has left us humbled and in awe of the people of South Dakota. So many of you were willing to give your time, talent and treasure, so that we could see old friends and meet new friends, hear about their challenges, and together plan for a better future.
There are so many that I need to thank, and it is my hope that in the weeks and months to come I am able to do so personally. I want to recognize and say thank you to perhaps the greatest campaign team of this generation, my family, and my beautiful wife Wanda. Thank you all. May God bless you and God bless South Dakota!

Yesterday, KELOLAND News gave my opponent a chance to clear the air on his record as a prosecutor. Once again, he tried to mislead voters about his experience.
Appearing uncomfortable with the topic, Ravnsborg insists he has tried criminal cases. When asked by KELOLAND’s Brady Mallory to name a criminal case he has tried, he replies, “I’m sure I can, but not off the top of my head.” In an interview with KSFY last week, Ravnsborg said the concerns are something he has “laughed at,” then he questioned why experience with criminal prosecution mattered for an individual seeking to become the state’s top prosecutor.
South Dakotans need an Attorney General they can trust. The issues handled by the Attorney General’s office are too important to have someone trying to learn the law on the job. This Tuesday, we have to send the message that experience matters for keeping South Dakota safe.

Republicans say my opponent is unprepared to serve as Attorney General. I've spent my career demonstrating that I have what it takes to get the job done.
