Thank you to Gulf Coast News for sharing this clip and helping the Lee County Master Gardeners surprise a local North Fort Myers woman (Shawn Foreman) after her beloved gnomes were stolen. So grateful we got to bring a little joy back to her garden.

Yellow Rat Snake Just Wants To Be Alone: Pantherophis alleghaniensis are typically 36-72 inches long, and live up to 20 years or more.

They are non-venomous and feed on rodents, birds, frogs, lizards, and even chickens.

Nocturnal in summer, diurnal in spring and fall.

Do not handle any wild snakes. Many Florida snakes are venomous, and misidentification can lead to serious consequences.

Golden Shower Tree (Cassia fistula) In Full Bloom: An outstanding flowering tree from India and Southeast Asia. The trees are at their maximum displays in May and June with about 32 Intense Blooming Days.

Racemes are 12-18 inches long. Flowers are buttercup yellow.

Used as a specimen in parks, along streets, parking lot islands, front or backyards. Messy petals when in bloom.
