Rising Up

Rising Up serves as a host site to assist in outreach, certification and distribution of CSFP food boxes monthly to ensure no senior goes hungry. The Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) is a USDA program designed to improve the health of low-income people at least 60 years of age, by supplementing their diets with nutritious foods. Two years ago, Brian and his fiancée moved from Florida to Colorado in search of a new adventure. Arriving just before Christmas, they found themselves staying at our Warming Center while looking for work.

Since then, Brian has faced many challenges, but he never stopped moving forward. This past year, he returned needing support, friendship, and a second chance. He embraced that opportunity by helping remodel our building and participating in our Culinary Work Component Program.

Today, we celebrate Brian's achievement of earning his ServSafe Certification and completing the program! We are incredibly proud of the hard work, growth, and determination he has shown.

This isn't goodbye—it's a celebration of a community member who is now working, volunteering, and making a positive impact on others.

Way to go, Brian! We can't wait to see what comes next. ❤️

🌱 Your Garden Can Help Feed Morgan County! 🌱

The growing season is here, and many gardens produce more fresh fruits and vegetables than families can use. If your garden is overflowing with tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, zucchini, squash, or other fresh produce, consider sharing your harvest with neighbors in need.

Through Rising Up's food pantry, your donated produce can help provide healthy, nutritious food to local families experiencing food insecurity right here in Morgan County.
