This summer, we had the opportunity to visit Genesis Bakery in Evans Colorado and see firsthand how Morgan Community College’s Multicultural Entrepreneur Program has helped support the growth of their business.

Owners Cecilia and Luis Pineda shared how the program has helped strengthen their business operations, improve management practices, and provide greater control over their day-to-day operations.

“One of the biggest challenges we faced in our business before taking the program at MCC was finding a manager who could effectively oversee and control the operations of the business. The program helped us make that decision, and now we have much greater control over production, sales, and everything that comes in and goes out.

Every piece of bread that is lost or wasted is tracked and monitored on a daily basis. Having control of our business and knowing where money is being spent is very important. This program has helped us tremendously by serving as a guide for our business.”

— Cecilia Pineda and Luis Pineda, Owners of Genesis Bakery

Thank you to Cecilia and Luis for welcoming us into their bakery and sharing their story. Their success demonstrates the impact that education, guidance, and community support can have on local businesses.
