The corn maze that was planted in the Great Plains region with Simplot's Precision Planter is progressing nicely and was a big success. This maze is a great way to showcase SmartFarm products such as seed prescriptions and our satellite imagery program, as well as the planter. The planter technology handled the drop from 35,000 seeds/acre to 0 beautifully with offsets no worse than 3-5 inches. The multi-hybrid capabilities of the planter also allowed us to place a Simplot logo just north of the maze in a different hybrid that we hope will be visible around tasseling because of difference in hybrid colors. The grower was extremely happy with the results compared to last year when he had to measure and hand remove plants in order to create the design and pathways.
