After another year of tickets and seizures of illegal fireworks, we just wanted to take some time to show you gratitude.

We would like to give a huge "thank you" to everyone who donated to the Fort Morgan Police Department's Annual Fireworks Disposal fundraiser.

To those who dropped a few dollars in the donation bucket while handing over enough leftover fireworks to recreate the Fourth of July... we noticed, and we appreciate you.

To those who asked, "Wait... I have to pay to get rid of these?" and then donated anyway (through a ticket), you restored our faith in humanity.

And to everyone who helped make this year's event a success, thank you for supporting a program that helps keep unwanted (by many) fireworks off our streets, out of our trash cans, and away from that one neighbor who thinks every weekend is Independence Day.

Your generosity helps us continue providing this service and keeps our community a little safer—and a lot quieter. I am sure all those who didn't have a fire in their yard as a result of your fireworks also appreciate your donations.
