Creamy Garlic Beef Spaghetti in Provolone Three-Cheese Sauce
Ingredients:
1 lb spaghetti
1 lb ground beef
2 tbsp olive oil
3 tbsp unsalted butter, divided
1 small onion, finely chopped
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp dried oregano
salt and black pepper to taste
2 tbsp all-purpose flour
1 cup beef broth
1½ cups heavy cream
4 oz cream cheese, softened
1 cup shredded provolone cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
fresh parsley for garnish
Directions:
1. Cook the spaghetti in a pot of salted boiling water until tender with a slight bite. Drain and set aside.
2. Heat olive oil with part of the butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until deeply browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Let some edges crisp for extra flavor.
3. Season the beef with oregano, salt, and black pepper, then transfer it to a plate once cooked through.
4. In the same skillet, melt the remaining butter and add the chopped onion. Cook until soft and lightly golden, then stir in the garlic and cook just until fragrant.
5. Sprinkle the flour over the mixture and stir continuously for about a minute to form a smooth base.
6. Slowly pour in the beef broth followed by the heavy cream, stirring well until the sauce begins to thicken.
7. Add the cream cheese and stir until fully melted and incorporated.
8. Mix in the provolone, mozzarella, and Parmesan, stirring until the sauce turns thick, creamy, and glossy.
9. Return the cooked beef to the skillet, then add the spaghetti. Toss everything together until the sauce evenly coats every strand.
10. Let it warm through for a minute or two so the sauce clings nicely, then finish with fresh parsley before serving.
