Last week my neighborhood got hit with a surge from a lightning strike close by. Most of us were lucky with a few tripped breakers, damaged GFCI outlets, damaged electronics, but others lost TV, garage door openers, AC units damaged, and cable / internet equipment problems. We suggest looking in to having a whole home surge arrester installed and using local surge arrester strips when plugging in electronics. If you would like a quote please contact us at 803 524 6890

I had to go to a home this weekend for a home inspection repair request. The deficiency was no direct grounding of Gas pipe. So I did some research since the NEC (electrical code) does not require this. I found that the manufacturer of CSST (corrugated stainless steel tubing) the yellow plastic coated gas pipe requires this do to lightning strikes causing leaks. The I get an advisory with my gas bill with the same information.
This is something to look into. Average cost including permit and fees is $300 to complete this work.
