Let’s jump in and meet an essential need for children coming into foster care! Join in the mission of James 1:27. We will be joining Defend the Fatherless collecting NEW, KIDS underwear and pajamas in children’s sizes to distribute at the York County Foster Closet in the month of May!

Collection dates: Drop off your donated items any Sunday in May.

Who wouldn't love to donate a pair of underwear or new pajamas to help put a smile on the face of a child in foster care?

Our partner Defend the Fatherless

This Christmas season, DSS has provided us with a list of 165 York County children in foster care.  We have 11 physical angel trees  around town this year and a virtual angel tree (bit.ly/3U1WJQj) to provide the opportunity for our community to aid in Christmas assistance for these families! Please consider sharing with your network of friends and family or share on social media.  We have posts up and we will continue to bring awareness to this project over the next few weeks.  All angels are for gift cards in different dollar amounts from different stores.  Pick up a physical angel from one of the locations or sign up for the virtual angel online. Friends can also give a monetary donation to Defend the Fatherless to buy individual gift cards as well if that's easier.  All gift cards are due back to a drop off location by November 19th.  This allows us time to get all the gift cards sorted and to the families. We have a large Christmas party with Santa on December 3rd to distribute the gift cards.

This program truly helps Christmas wishes come true! The foster family had to fill out a survey to request gift cards from a specific store to meet a special wish on their Christmas list.  Many of these children have never had the opportunity to have anything new much less something that they have asked for SPECIFICALLY! You can CHANGE that! Thank you for everything that you all continue to do for vulnerable children in our community.
