A week ago the mighty, sweet Colorado music community showed up, out and off for ‘s 18th year (look out world, they’re legal now), and we are so happy to have been part of it for our fourth year running (look out fam, we’re about to leave preschool). While we wish we’d had more time and practical bandwidth this year to experience, celebrate and support our colleagues’ sets, we felt all the love and excitement all the same. We also missed our bandmate who had a last minute situation which prevented him from being there with us — though that did mean we (and our audience) got the extra treat of seeing our newest member not only singing but also playing some percolating powerful percussion in his stead. Thank You from the bottom to the top of our overflowing hearts to everyone in FoCoMA, all the volunteers, all the monumental musicians and industry people, who took some of the great photos in this reel (and along with his is among the most enthusiastic and dedicated supporters and champions of all of us in the community), special guest of — and especially to the outrageously lovable attendees who year after year show why "America’s biggest little festival" is especially known for the size of its heart. Til next year, we 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜 you all truly, madly, and deeply.

The bigger story:
Every musician knows—or should!—that of all the things that make the world of live music worth living in, none is more important than venues operated by people who wholeheartedly love, respect and support the artists. In our 15+ years as a band, no team has been more loving, respectful and supportive than Scotty Morrill and company. Add to that the beauty, warm and welcoming energy and fantastic sound of the Ballroom and the Other Side, and… Well, yeah. No wonder Cervantes’ is easily, hands down, by miles (etc etc) our favorite place to play in Denver. Or, for that matter, anywhere.
We’re extremely excited for and joyful about our next show in the Other Side, which y’gotta wait a few minutes for but anyway—— July 10 with spectacular support from The Midnight Soulbirds and San Leandro Music. When you come (cuz where you gonna go otherwise??) please join us in cheering—LOUDly—for the place we are in and the people who make it possible for us to be there.
