UPDATE on this mare with White Line Disease.

Weโ€™re about 90% back to solid hoof wall with the end of this road in sight. I just want to give a huge shout out to this client for staying on top of their work in between cycles, without that this progress would have been slowed tremendously.
With WLD itโ€™s so imperative that you stay on top of medicating the site, as a farrier, I am only there once every 5 weeks. For example I have worked on two horses that actively had WLD at the same time in the past and the difference in medicating and treating consistently makes the difference between a 2 year treatment and a 1 year treatment.

White Line Disease Update!
9 Months Into Treatment & Making Amazing Progress!

This mare is well on her way to a whole and healthy hoof.

Treatment started with a hoof wall resection to expose the infected laminae, followed by a formaldehyde + betadine soak to clean it out.

After a consult with our vet, we went with a reverse keg shoe + leather pad combo:
โœ… Supports side walls & heels
โœ… Floats the toe
โœ… Encourages max hoof growth

Weโ€™re just a few shoeing cycles away from a full recovery!

โ€œNo hoof, no horse.โ€
