Robotics and automation expert Terrence Southern, owner of Robotopia, discussed how jobs are evolving and how digital, technical and problem-solving skills are very valuable when he spoke at a Tech and Innovation Workshop Series event on Monday.

Forney Economic Development’s partnership with Robotopia will continue on Monday, May 18, with “North Texas Manufacturing Future Forum: Robotics, AI & the Next Industrial; Shift,” which will be held from 10:30 am. to noon at 210 S. Bois D'Arc St., following a Small Business Series event at 8:30 a.m.

Robotopia's Terrence Southern, who is a robotics engineer and has installed robotics in many companies, spoke at the Forney EDC on Monday about the need for businesses, from manufacturing to construction, to incorporate robotics to remain competitive in the modern economy. He also spoke about the importance to workforce development of learning robotics.

This was the first session of the Forney Tech and Innovation Workshop Series. The next session, "From Manual to Machine: A Practical Roadmap to Robotics Without Breaking Your Business," will be on Monday, May 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Forney EDC Business Center and Office, 210 S. Bois D'Arc St.
