Mom: The house cleaner is coming today! Don’t forget to pick up your room, make your bed, and do the dishes!

Kid: Why do I have to clean the house before the house cleaner? Isn’t that why you pay her?

I know this conversation happens all the time, but let me explain…

When we clean a home we want to leave it perfect and spotless! When we don’t know where your “things” go, we end up having to do our best to contain it in one area of the house, but it is still not put away properly. It is so much more satisfying to leave a house with zero clutter!

So what would your house cleaner love if you had done before they get there?

In my opinion…
1. General pick up of “things” - If you wouldn’t run it over with a vacuum pick it up!
2. Dishes done - Unless you specifically ask the cleaner to do this for you.
3. Laundry put away

This will help the cleaner move around in the house freely and leave the house looking perfect for you!
