Steel City R/C Speedway

3 years ago today our final laps. What a ride, 5 years of great memories, family and friends. Still keeping our fingers crossed for any new location.

On this day in 2018 was opening day at SCS.
I had planned to have Kyle Goodwine turn the first laps at SCS, but Ruben Serrano was so amped up and excited to run his car he surprised us and beat everyone to it. In the long run our family couldn’t think of a nicer more dedicated RC racer to turn the first laps than Ruben.
So many smiles, so many new friends, and new family members were created at this little RC track known simply as SCS.

To stop and think this was the beginning of a small simple dream to build an RC track. Yes 5 years ago today 1/23/2018 was the day we broke ground. So many memories, so many emotions, so many new family members.

Very sad two Southern California racing locations to bring families, friends, competition, and smiles all together just destroyed over greed, yes I said greed.
One NASCAR employee once said to me “do you realized what an acre is worth ?”.
I sure do, but I also realize what someone’s passion, enjoyment, love of a hobby, fun in life might be worth as well. When that final checkered flag is waved for each and everyone of us, you can’t take it with you. Look at our little slice of red fun we got to enjoy.

It’s been a tough week, weekend, okay it’s been a roll a coaster of a month, but this helped a little bit today.
Thank you to all of our SCS family of racers that came out and supported our Toys for the Kids race this past weekend.
You guys and gals are all awesome. Beth and I delivered all of YOUR toys to the Chino Neighborhood House today and all of the volunteers were over joyed with what all of YOU did for a family and child less fortunate than yourself. Thank you from the bottom of our heart, the Goodwine family.
