Colton firefighters responded to scene after getting reports of a fire near Award Drive and James Wehr Court at around 9 p.m. Several residents, with the help of Colton Police officers, had already started using hoses to wet down the thick brush over the wall behind their homes, and thankfully, no houses were damaged.

One resident told us that they had previously expressed concerns regarding the dense brush to the city, but it has not been addressed.

By 11 p.m., local firefighters were still busy responding to small vegetation fires across the Inland Valley, mainly in the cities of Colton, , and .

In , firefighters battled a 15-acre vegetation fire that ignited around 8:30 p.m. close to Teaberry Court and Trillium Way. The flames advanced uphill, but by approximately 10 p.m., the progress had been stopped.
