Glucosamine, a popular joint supplement combining glucose and glutamine, which can cross the blood-brain barrier, was linked to faster Alzheimer’s progression. More evidence of s*x differences in Alzheimer’s disease: A new study found that a good score on a common Alzheimer’s screening test (MMSE, mini-mental state exam) may not reflect the changes occurring in women’s brains, which appear to compensate during the MCI phase (when many people first present to their practitioners) in a way that men do not. This is one of the reasons we use the much more sensitive CNS Vital Signs testing, which we used in both of our clinical trials.
