True story! 😂🤦🏼‍♀️

Photos from Shabby 2 Chic by Stephanie's post 02/19/2023

I moved into a new home last May and have steadily been working on so many exciting projects for my new house! 🤩 This is one I’m excited to share: a live edge, hard white maple console table, sourced from a tree on a piece of property along the shores of Lake Huron (where I grew up). My father has a small saw mill on my family’s farm in Michigan where he does a lot of custom cuts likes this. I’m so incredibly blessed to have such a resource. 🙌 This is a piece of furniture I’ll cherish forever. 💙🙏🏼

The process: Once sanded ((a lot)), I finished with Rubio Monocoat Oil Pls 2C in ‘Morning Mist’, a hardwax oil wood protector that colors and protects in only one single layer! I highly recommend this product, the finish is true profection AND it’s zero VOC! Then I added custom black powder coated steel legs from Rusty Designs Canada.👌🥰

For my Michigan clients, I will have a few of these available in the summer and will be pre-order only. Message me for details and pricing.

A few photos of my office that I finally finished (including that pesky Haverty’s desk I refishined that I was certain may be the death of me)! 🤪😆🤣

*Sold!*

I just finished these lovely mid-century modern nightstands! 🎨 🤩 Done in Dixie Belle Paint Company ‘Stormy Seas’, sealed in polycyclic and Grunge Grey wax added in the details for subtle detailing. New brushed nickel hardware added in a style to maintain the integrity of the MCM era. These will be a gorgeous addition to any coastal or boho style decor. 💙🎨🌊

I want to offer a BIG welcome all my new clients and followers and take a moment to introduce myself, the owner and creator of Shabby 2 Chic by Stephanie.💕

Home decor and furnishings have been a lifelong passion for me. I have always relished in the creature comforts in my home. I want my home to be an expression and representation of who I am and what is important to me, while providing a place of comfort and respite from the outside world.

I have always been a ‘DIYer’. I owned my first home at the age of 23 and many more subsequently after. Each home represented a blank canvas and an opportunity for self expression, creativity and passion for home decor.

In 2020, the pandemic opened a new world of opportunities including a move south to the Florida/Alabama Gulf Coast. I picked up a paint brush to paint some furniture that was blemished in the move. It was a natural fit and thus, Shabby 2 Chic by Stephanie was born. Embracing the coastal life style was an easy transition for me. Having been raised on the shores of Lake Huron in Michigan’s ‘Thumb’ area, spending nearly two decades in Maryland and boating on the Chesapeake Bay, the coastal charm of the Emerald Coast of Florida and Alabama was a natural fit and is now home for me. I infuse that coastal vibe into all of my pieces, simply said, I paint with my heart and my heart lives at sea.💙🌊

When I’m not painting or sourcing my next great furniture find, I enjoy time with my two rescued miniature pinschers, Skeeter and Braylee. I enjoy running, particularly on the beaches as well as trail running on one of the many local trails. I also enjoy kayaking and exploring the boundless opportunities to be closer to nature. And I’m so blessed to be able to split my time between Michigan, where my family still resides and of course, the Gulf Coast, where I get to call 🏡 🙏🏼🥰
