Our Teens did it again. We are extremely proud of teens' ability to engage with tough topics.

Trinity's G.R.E.A.T. Education and Empowerment Becoming Ministry assembled for Christian Becoming. Thanks to everyone who participated in the Becoming Session. We had a great time of fellowship, food, and faith development. During the session, Pastor Crenshaw continued a presentation on the topic "Teens and the Reality of Heaven and Hell."

Black History Moment
Our Black History Moment focused on Teri Williams. She is the President and Chief Operating Officer of OneUnited Bank, where she has leveraged over 30 years of financial services experience to consolidate four banks and launch a national digital platform. She holds an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a B.A. from Brown University, having previously served as one of the youngest Vice Presidents at American Express and Bank of America. Beyond corporate banking, Ms. Williams serves on the public board of CCC Intelligent Solutions. She holds leadership roles in numerous non-profit organizations dedicated to community development and closing racial wealth gaps in Boston and Miami. Additionally, she is the author of an urban youth financial literacy book and has received prominent accolades, including recognition from Forbes Magazine and the Trayvon Martin Foundation.

Presentation Central Idea
Teens Don't Need to Lack Knowledge About Heaven and Hell
Teens Need to Gain Knowledge About Heaven and Hell

Pastor Crenshaw focused on the following goals:
• Demystify the Culture's Version: Move students away from cartoonish ideas of hell (red pitchforks, a giant party with friends) and anchor them in the sobering, biblical reality of eternal separation from God.
• Reconcile Holiness and Judgment: Help teens understand that hell exists because God is perfectly just and holy, not because He is cruel. True love requires justice against evil.
• Ignite an Urgent Mission: Transform a frightening doctrine into a catalyst for compassion, driving students to share the Gospel with their peers rather than holding onto a mindset of spiritual complacency.

Pastor Crenshaw opened the presentation with the following icebreaker:
Pick the one that best describes you.
• I know I have eternal life, and I know I'm going to heaven.
• I hope I have eternal life, and I hope I'm going to heaven.
• I might have eternal life, and I might be going to heaven.
• I don't know if I have eternal life, and I don't know if I'm going to heaven.
• I don't have eternal life, and I know I'm not going to heaven.

We praise God that by the end of the session, all of our teens and some adults moved from responses like: "I hope I have eternal life, and I hope I'm going to heaven" and "I might have eternal life, and I might be going to heaven," to saying, "I know I have eternal life, and I know I'm going to heaven." The transition occurred as Pastor Crenshaw provided a scriptural foundation to help everyone know they have eternal life and are going to heaven. Below are some of the passages discussed in the session.

1 John 5:13 -- "These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life."

John 10:27–29 -- "My sheep listen to My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give them eternal life, and they will never perish; and no one will sn**ch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to sn**ch them out of the Father's hand."

Romans 8:1 -- "Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus."

Romans 8:38–39 -- "For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Ephesians 1:13–14 -- "In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation—having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is a first installment of our inheritance, in regard to the redemption of God's own possession, to the praise of His glory."

We look forward to our next G.R.E.A.T. Education and Empowerment Becoming Ministry session on June 24, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Our session will return to the topic: "Teens and Maximizing One's Potential."

Keep up the great work, G.R.E.A.T. Education and Empowerment Ministry!

On May 31, 2026, we celebrated our third post-pandemic B-3 Graduation & Diploma Presentation Ceremony. We thank God for all members and visitors who attended to support our graduates and worship with the Trinity Church Family. We also thank God for those who joined us via the Facebook Livestream.

We recognized God’s people who sacrificed much to reach this significant milestone in their lives. This year’s graduates represent at least four different churches within the Shoals area and three out-of-state churches. We thank God for our graduates’ dedication, determination, and desire to learn more about the Bible’s origin, authority, divisions (OT & NT Books), genres, dispensations, and historical, literary, geographical, cultural, and Christological context.

We cannot name everyone involved in making our B-3 Graduation & Diploma Presentation Ceremony possible. However, we want to thank our B-3 Change Agent (Monica Coman) for sharing her spiritual gifts, time, effort, patience, knowledge, love, and wisdom. We appreciate her willingness to ensure all graduates had fun while staying engaged as they learned ā€œBible Basicsā€ to undergird their Christian faith.

The 2026 Becoming Session graduated and celebrated completing one year of B-3 Becoming Sessions. These individuals have demonstrated the value they place on their spiritual development.
