Dogs and cats have a much higher sense of hearing than us humans do. While we may hear fireworks as musical pops, our pets experience them with much higher intensity. ๐
As with thunder and lightning, the loud booms of fireworks are unpredictable and cause a lot of confusion for our pets. Cats and dogs cannot understand what is happening when they hear fireworks, which instinctively triggers their fight-or-flight response to unknown threats. ๐
When you know fireworks will soon be lighting up the sky nearby, act quickly to prepare before the event date using our guide: thrivepetcare.com/thrive-guide/how-to-calm-pets-during-fireworks

It's ! Weโre lucky to be able celebrate that every day here at our hospital by getting to see your pets. Having animals around a work environment has been shown to help reduce stress, increase morale, reduce absenteeism, and bring co-workers closer together.
Do you take your pet to work with you? If so, share some pics in the comments! ๐

As natural disasters become more common and frequent around the country, itโs important to have a plan in place well before a crisis strikes. Spend some time assembling emergency supply kits that take both your family and petsโ essential needs into account.
Pro tip: Create a kit specifically designed for home use and another one for travel, just in case you need to evacuate on short notice. ๐งณ โ
