Ky Ritz Lhasa’s

I am the small lion at your door,
keeper of quiet mornings and long sighing nights.

You think you chose me —
but it was your footsteps my heart memorized before we ever met.

I sit where your worries fall,
so they do not follow you to sleep.
I watch the horizon of your days
and keep the shadows from growing teeth.

You offer food and a warm place —
yet I stay for the sound of your breathing, for the way your hands forget the world when they rest in my coat.

In the old mountains, they say
a Lhasa does not belong to a person —
we guard the soul assigned to us.

So on this day of human love,
remember ... every time my eyes soften at yours, I am saying the only prayer I know —

May you be safe.
May you be peaceful.
May you never walk this life alone.

Ok so I tried putting a tarp down to create a nice clear spot for the Lhasa’s outside. First I shoveled some of the snow off the top to make it easier to peel it back. Then I peeled the tarp back to reveal a little bit of the Astroturf spot for them to go potty. Walla, this is what I got. I’m loving it more than them because they’re not tracking in all that snow in my house
