The Flomaton Police Department arrested Anthony Lucero on the evening of June 4, 2026, following an investigation into allegations of sexual abuse.

The investigation began after the allegations were disclosed to authorities. Upon receiving the report, officers immediately initiated an investigation. As a result of that investigation, probable cause was established, and Lucero was taken into custody.

This case remains an active investigation. The Flomaton Police Department encourages anyone who may have additional information related to this case to contact the department at (251) 296-5811.

The Flomaton Police Department is committed to thoroughly investigating allegations involving crimes against children and vulnerable persons and will continue to work diligently to ensure the safety of our community.

As with all criminal cases, the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

The Flomaton Police Department, along with Mayor Arthur Odom, Dispatch Supervisor Tatum Padilla, and Chief of Police Justin Hetrick, stopped by Newman’s today to let the men and women who serve this community day in and day out know just how much we appreciate their service.

These men and women, along with EMS personnel across this nation, serve daily and are sometimes overlooked, but they are always there when citizens need them most. We are grateful for their dedication, sacrifice, and commitment to keeping our communities safe and cared for every single day.

The Flomaton Police Department would like to congratulate all of this year’s 2026 graduates on this outstanding accomplishment. Your hard work, dedication, and perseverance have paid off, and we are proud of each of you as you begin the next chapter of your journey.

Today, officers with the Flomaton Police Department attended Venomous Snake Safety and Handling Training at the Monroe County Conservation Education Center. The class, instructed by James Stiles and Raymond Corey, focused on the identification of venomous snakes commonly found in Alabama, along with proper safety precautions and handling techniques.

Lt. Staples and Officer Beasley also attended the training… although for some reason they made sure to stay nowhere near the snakes 😂🐍

We appreciate the opportunity to continue training and learning skills that help keep both our officers and community safe.

I would like to take a moment to recognize the men and women who currently serve, those who have retired, and the fallen heroes who stood on the front lines of law enforcement not only here at the Flomaton Police Department, but all across the United States.

Every day, officers put on the badge and make sacrifices to protect and serve their communities. Their dedication, courage, and commitment do not go unnoticed. We are forever grateful to those who continue to answer the call, those who paved the way before us, and those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

The Flomaton Police Department Softball Team truly enjoyed participating in this year’s Brewton Police Department Softball Tournament benefiting “Shop with a Cop.”

It was a great cause, and a lot of fun was had by all. We appreciate the opportunity to come together with fellow agencies and support such an important program.
