"remanufactured" and "rebuilt" are not the same; remanufacturing is a much more comprehensive process that restores a product to like-new, original equipment (OEM) standards by replacing all wearable parts, while rebuilding typically involves only repairing or replacing only the broken or worn parts, often leaving other components as-is, resulting in lower cost but less reliability and a shorter warranty. Remanufactured items are essentially new again, meeting OEM specs, while rebuilt ones are functional but not necessarily to original standards.
Rebuilt
• Process: Disassembled, cleaned, and only damaged or worn parts are replaced or repaired.
• Components: Reuses serviceable parts that are still within acceptable wear limits.
• Result: Restores functionality but not necessarily to new condition.
• Cost: Generally less expensive.
• Warranty: Shorter or less comprehensive.
Remanufactured
• Process: Completely disassembled, cleaned, inspected, and all wearable parts are replaced with new ones.
• Components: Restored to OEM specifications, often exceeding original performance.
• Result: Like-new performance and appearance, often with new part quality.
• Cost: Higher cost due to extensive work.
• Warranty: Longer and more robust, similar to new parts.
