Disability Pride Month is celebrated in July because the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was signed into law in July of 1990.

People with disabilities are the largest and most diverse minority within the population, representing all abilities, ages, races, ethnicities, religions and socio-economic backgrounds.

There are many barriers to reporting abuse for people of color, which can also delay mental health care for issues stemming from dv/sv. Abuse does not discriminate-and neither do we.

Though June is quickly coming to a close, our efforts to provide inclusive services for victims and survivors will continue.

There are many barriers to reporting sexual assault. For LGBTQ+ individuals, some of these barriers may include stigma and the fear of being outed.
