Today we honor Juneteenth

Juneteenth reminds us that freedom was delayed, but never denied. On June 19, 1865, enslaved people in Texas finally learned they were free, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.

Today, we remember the strength and courage of those who kept fighting for their freedom. Their story still inspires us.

At Values Into Action, we believe every person deserves dignity, choice, and the freedom to live their own life. We also honor the shared roots of the Black freedom movement and the disability rights movement, both built on the truth that every life has value and everyone belongs.

Today, we pause, reflect, and recommit to building a more fair and inclusive world for all.
