There is still time to get those Camp and Special Event Applications turned in!

The applications are due March 20, 2026 and can be submitted through the website (see link below) or paper mail delivery. If submitting through paper mail, please make sure that mail is postmarked March 20 for acceptance.

Camp and Special Event youth Volunteers must be 13 years old (by May 31, 2026) and must volunteer 100 hours through volunteering with Adventure Camps and special events.

We are still accepting youth volunteer applications for the General Program. Applications for the General Program must be submitted by Friday January 9th, 2026. The Applications can be submitted through our website. https://www.connerprairie.org/youth-volunteer-application

They can also be submitted through mail or emailed. If sent through the mail, they must be postmarked January 9th to be accepted.

Youth ages 10-18 may apply for the General Youth Volunteer program. Guest interaction is a primary focus of this position. Youth in this program primarily interpret on our historic areas, both in modern uniform and in costume. Some of these youth also assist with Special Events and Camp. Applications for this type of volunteer are now open. Youth must be 10 years old by April 1, 2026 to apply. Applications will be due January 9, 2026.

This week is the last week that we will accept applications for the Democracy in Dialogue program. The applications are due Friday January 9th. Applications can be accepted through mail (must be postmarked January 9th), emailed or submitted through the website. https://www.connerprairie.org/volunteer

Democracy in Dialogue is a Smithsonian virtual exchange program aimed at engaging students and educators from various backgrounds in meaningful discussions about democracy and community. A group of 10-25 youth will form an in-person cohort at Conner Prairie, and meet virtually with a partner cohort elsewhere in the US. The cohort will work together to produce a final research/oral history/video project. The program will run January through April, 2026.

All young people who will be between the ages of 10-18 by January 1 are welcome to apply for the Democracy in Dialogue track. We would love a cohort as diverse as our local community. We will have a high rate of acceptance up to 25 participants.

The population of Prairietown increased dramatically last night at A Merry Prairie Holiday. Youth Volunteers and adult Prairietown Citizens built a large group of pint-sized snowmen, with a little help from guests. We are accepting suggestions for what to call a group of snowmen. The leading suggestion is "ice pack."
